PRECISION, RAW STRENGTH AND FOCUS ON THE TASK
Canada's loggers are some of the best in the world at handling axes, saws and raw logs. In the Lumberjack Contest, you prove to each other who best masters the unique disciplines when the coolest woodsmen are to be found.
Lumberjack is about becoming the best team in a number of well-known logger disciplines that both require cooperation, strength and tactical considerations.
Initially, the participants are divided into teams and given an introduction to the disciplines: ax throwing, pole climbing, log race, long sawing, raft throwing and logging.
Before each discipline, the teams are given the opportunity to lay out a strategy for the implementation and when the task is completed the instructor gives points based on the result achieved.
When all teams have finished, the participants gather and the results are presented, the best teams are chosen and the winners are celebrated.
The event can advantageously be held in connection with another event and for larger groups. The participants are divided into teams of 5-12 people and take turns to complete the individual disciplines.
